Pflugerville water
earns statewide recognition
APRIL
30, 2009 – Pflugerville, TX – At the City
Council meeting on Tuesday, April 28, Mayor Pro Tem Victor Gonzales presented
the TAWWA Best Tasting Water in the State, First Runner-up Award to employees
from the surface water treatment plant.
Texas Water 2009 is the
largest regional water conference in the U.S. and is sponsored by the Texas
Section of the American Water Works Association (TAWWA) and the Water
Environmental Association of Texas. At this conference, held April 14-17, 2009,
in Galveston, the City of Pflugerville entered the Best-Tasting Drinking Water
Contest and earned an award for first runner-up. The competition was open to
cities throughout the state of Texas, and the criteria for judging the water
were taste, odor, clarity and color, with a five-member panel tasting and
grading the entries.
