Rutland is a young country singer and songwriter who was chosen as one of the 10 Country Artists to Watch in 2014 by Billboard Magazine. Her debut single "Into the Circle" is a tribute to the world famous Grand Ole Opry. Up next is Ruby Dee & the Snakehandlers, a four-piece combo band that plays Americana with Texas honky-tonk, Bakersfield twang, Memphis rockabilly, Western swing and rock 'n' roll all in one. Enjoy music from the band's fourth album, Miles from Home, and catch them at Pfluger Park before they head to their European tour later this summer. Come out to Pfluger Park, 515 City Park Road, for a toe-tapping good time. Bring a blanket and the family and enjoy food concessions at 6 p.m. and live music from 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.

Asphalt can be too hot for your pet's feet
Asphalt retains heat and is always hotter than the air. Before you walk the dog, check and see just how hot the sidewalk is that your pet is walking on. If it is hot to bare human feet, it's also hot to a dog. To test, hold your hand for 7 seconds on pavement. If the pavement is too hot on your hand, don't walk your dog. Hot asphalt may burn or blister your pet's feet, and pets may be unable to express this to you. The solution is to walk your pets in the mornings if possible, when asphalt temperatures are coolest.
