Back to School next week!
The first day of school in Pflugerville is August 25. Students are at
new schools and establishing their travel routine to and from school.
Please remember the law prohibit drivers from using a handheld cell
phone in school zones which carries a fine of $200.
Talk to your child before the first day of school:
We suggest talking to your child about the route to school. Frequent
problems at schools include double-parked cars and children darting
between cars or getting off their bicycles. If dropping your child off,
arrive early so that you are not rushed after dropping off your child.
Discuss safety rules with your child before you get to the school and
proper methods to walk around automobile traffic. Consider walking or
riding a bike to school with your child for the first week to get them
comfortable with their routine. Be careful, slow down for our kids. View this video and make sure you know all the rules about cell phone use in Pflugerville.
