112 registered parties in Pflugerville's record-breaking National Night Out
Pflugerville had a record of 112 registered parties and approximately 8,000 neighbors that turned on their porch lights and came out to visit with each other, the police, fire, and EMS personnel to celebrate the 32nd Annual National Night Out.
Mayor Jeff Coleman, City Manager Brandon Wade, City Council members, Police Chief Chuck Hooker, and almost all of the officers of the police department, various city department heads, victim services volunteers, K-9 dogs, members of the Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association, Pflugerville Fire Department, and representatives from Target were busy throughout the evening visiting block parties.
National Night Out provides a unique opportunity for citizens to prevent crime by promoting civic awareness and strengthening partnerships between neighborhoods and the police. Citizens seized the opportunity to ask many questions regarding their safety and how to obtain more in-depth advice about security measures around their homes and in their neighborhoods. There were pamphlets available on how to form Neighborhood Watch, how to protect your property, information on Identity Theft, Homeland Security, auto theft prevention, Child ID, keeping our schools safe and a host of other topics. Thank you Pflugerville for your participation in NNO! It's not too late to share your pictures with us at #PfTXNNO.

The City of Pflugerville Public Works Department’s curbside brush and chipping service operates on an every-other-week citywide pickup schedule which eliminates the need for customers to call for brush and chipping pickup services. This process allows utility customers to know what days pickup is offered in their neighborhood and reduces the amount of time that brush piles are left at the curb.
Customers may visit
and view maps and a schedule which indicates when the chipping truck will be in their neighborhood and pickup guidelines. For customers with piles larger than the approved pickup size, or those not wanting to wait on the curbside pickup, the city operates a brush and recycling center at 15500 Sun Light Near Way where utility customers can drop off brush and limbs. The center is open from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Monday. The curbside brush and limb pickup service is not available for commercial business use.

Pfennig Lane water utility project work; Project duration: 10-12 weeks
Temporary closure and flagging operation of one travel lane of Pfennig Lane (between Railroad Avenue and the Justice Center) is anticipated during weekday business hours to allow for construction of a water line as part of the Pfennig Lane and Pflugerville Parkway Water Transmission project.
In the event of such a lane closure, minor traffic delays during business hours should be expected. The construction along Pfennig is anticipated to last up to 12 weeks (weather permitting). Since Pfennig Lane is a two-lane road, drivers should watch for traffic delays or consider an alternate route along Pflugerville Parkway.
