El Tule at Music in the Park tonight
El Tule
Come enjoy music from El Tule, on Friday, July 8, at Music in the Park at Pfluger Park, starting at 7:30 p.m.

The band plays Cumbia and mixes it up with Merengue, Reggaeton, Salsa, Chicha, Boogaloo and Rumba all with their own particular pflavor and pfunkiness. The eight-piece ensemble includes two guitars, bass, trumpet, trombone, and drumset, congas and timbales. Recent highlights include opening the show for the Gipsy Kings and Jerry Jeff Walker, but the most exciting was their double performance at 2015's Austin City Limits Music Festival.

In terms of what Pflugerville can expect there will be some scorching guitars, thumping, low-end bass lines, funky horn blasts and hard hitting, syncopated Latin beats that will undoubtedly get a happy crowd up, out in front, and dancing! We'll see you at Music in the Park!

Go visit a park for Parks and Recreation Month
black locust parkIt is parks and recreation month and the city encourages you to go walk a trail or visit a park you have never visited. Over the past year, the city opened Black Locust Park and Pflugerville Heights Park with additional playground equipment and amenities.

On July 1, the city held a ribbon cutting for Black Locust Park to kickoff Parks and Recreation Month. Everyone is a super hero that visits our parks and enjoys recreation activities.

If you've never walked the Gilleland Creek Trail, it's worth a try.

Visit to download a pocket trail map or pick one up at the Pflugerville Recreation Center, 400 Immanuel Road.  The city has an online interactive map with pictures of each park and amenities to help you choose which park to visit.   Pictured is Mayor Jeff Coleman and Councilmember Starlet Sattler with city staff and parks commissioners cutting the ribbon to open the playground.
