  1. Lone Star Regional Rail - Public Open House Meeting

    January 28, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Georgetown Chamber Events Center

    Please join us for a public meeting and learn more about the Lone Star Regional Rail Project. The Lone Star Rail District, Texas Department of Transportation, and Federal Highway Administration are holding a series of meetings to start the environmental review process for the Lone Star Regional Rail Project, which is proposed to improve mobility, mode choice, accessibility, transportation reliability and facilitate economic development along the I-35 corridor in Central and South Texas. One option to be studied could provide passenger rail service from north of Austin to downtown San Antonio within existing freight rail corridors, while moving some existing freight train service to a new freight bypass constructed between Taylor and San Antonio.

    Drive a Senior seeks volunteer drivers to assist seniors in need. Kids are welcome to help & volunteers choose own drives. Even a once-a-month drive makes a BIG difference in the life of an isolated senior.

  1. Mostly Muscles

    January 6, 7:30 PM - February 26, 7:30 PM @ Recreation Center

    Aerobic and conditioning movements to target large and small muscle groups. Class will be a mixture of using steps, weights, stretch bands, exercise balls and weighted bars. It is for all levels of abilities. Dress in lightweight workout clothes. Bring a yoga mat and water to drink. Classes are held at the Recreation Center mutli-purpose classroom, second floor, 400 Immanuel Road. Instructor: Linda Spataro

    Tennis can be a lifetime activity, so start now! Students must provide a tennis racket and a new can of tennis balls. Loose-fitting clothing, and water are recommended. This session, classes will be held indoors at the Recreation Center, 400 Immanuel Road. Private lessons are also available. Instructor: Alexander W. Porter, USPTA.

    Enshin Karate is a practical system of empty-handed self-defense. Based on a strategy of circular movement, this form of karate uses an opponent's power and momentum against him or her. This enables its practitioner to convert defense into offense. Enshin stresses development of flexibility, power and speed with emphasis on stretching, conditioning and technique. Classes are held at the Recreation Center, multi-purpose classroom, second floor, 400 Immanuel Road.
