Introduction to Bird Watching

Saturday, March 2

This class is offered by the Travis Audubon Society and will acquaint you with the tools you need to enjoy our central Texas birds more. Field guides, range maps, bird identification tips and local hotspots will be discussed. After the class, we will go outside to practice our skills in Bohl’s Park. Bring binoculars if you have them. Diane Sherrill will be the presenter and is a passionate birder. She leads bird and native plant field trips for the Balcones National Wildlife Refuge, the Native Plant Society of Texas and the Travis Audubon Society. She designed and helped install the Education Center garden at The Travis Audubon Baker Sanctuary and is involved in the prairie restoration at Commons Ford Park in Austin. She owns a native plant landscaping business.
