On Monday, May 15, the City of Pflugerville filed an arrest warrant against Robert Joseph Uribe (DOB: 09/02/1998) in the death of Jose Avidan Martinez, 20. He is currently being held in Williamson County Jail on a $1 million bond.

Uribe is accused of fatally shooting Martinez on May 10 in the 15800 block of Foothill Farms Loop.  Pflugerville officers arrived on Tuesday, May 10, to find Martinez, who also went by “Jay Jay” lying in the parking lot of an apartment complex and Martinez later passed away at Round Rock’s St. David’s Medical Center as a result of injuries in this incident.

During early stages of the investigation, Pflugerville Police Detectives learned of a robbery in Round Rock at the 7-11 at Gattis School Road and Double Creek Drive at approximately 3:15 a.m. on the same morning of May 10. Evidence found at Round Rock’s scene and Pflugerville’s scene linked the two events.

Round Rock officers took one subject into custody at the scene of the 7-11 robbery and were able to identify a second subject, Mkenzie Marzett (DOB: 11/04/1997) who goes by the name “Goofie Gee.” Pflugerville Detectives were contacted by witnesses who were with Martinez at the location before he was killed.

Uribe was taken into custody on a warrant issued by the Round Rock Police Department on May 13 for his involvement in a Burglary on Wednesday, May 10 in Round Rock. Witnesses confirmed Martinez met with Uribe the morning he was killed.
