Headlining authors for the 2014 Festival include Martin Amis, Lidia Bastianich, Edan Lepucki, Ziggy Marley, Hector Tobar, Valerie Plame Wilson, Lawrence Wright, and Tiphanie Yanique.   8. Genealogy Program at the Pflugerville Library: Texas General Land Office Overview

    Join Kevin Klaus, Lead Researcher at the Texas General Land Office Archives and Records Program for an overview of the collection and how it relates to the early history of Texas and how it can be used in genealogical research. Mr. Klaus developed a love of history from an early age listening to stories told by his Great Grandparents and Grandparents who grew up in East Texas. Over the last 10 years he has served as one of the lead researchers in the Texas General Land Office Archives and Records Program Area. During his time at the Land Office he has searched the early Court of Claims files and archival collection to learn more about the history of Texas and discover the amazing collection of personal letters of early soldiers and pioneers who helped settle our great state. This program is at the Pflugerville Public Library. Refreshments will be served while supplies last.

    Learn the Olympic sport of archery in this beginner-level class. The skills of modern-day archery with USA Archery Association techniques will be learned through skill drills, active shooting, and games. All equipment is provided. Classes are held inside the Green Red Barn if the weather is bad. Students should dress accordingly. Private lessons are also available. Instructor: Ron Dahlseid. There will be no Archery classes held September 1 (Labor Day), January 19 (MLK Jr. Day) or, February 16 (President's Day)
