PISD Police
The Pflugerville Police Department and Pflugerville Independent School District work together to keep the students on all PISD campuses safe, while addressing the unique requirements of campus safety and security. Chief William Edwards heads the PISD Police Department which was formed in 2008.

School based law enforcement officers, also known as School District Police Officers, are assigned to each high school and middle school campus in PISD. Each high school is served by two officers and each middle school by one. With the implementation of the PISD Police Department, officers are available to provide safety, security, law enforcement, and educational support to elementary campuses as well.

Currently, 23 Full Time commissioned officers make up the PISD Police Department.  Officers are assigned for all criminal offenses on the District 3 high school campuses, 6 middle school campuses and 20 elementary school campuses. The Pflugerville ISD currently has 34 physical campuses including administrative and support locations. The District covers approximately 95 square miles and serves approximately 23,000 students.

Mission Statement
The Mission of the Pflugerville ISD Police Department is to serve and protect the safety and welfare of all persons (staff, students, visitors, board members) as well as district property at all Pflugerville Independent School District facilities.  The department is dedicated in helping provide an opportunity for all students of the district to achieve the highest level of success.  The Department supports the mission of the District, developing and maintaining a collaborative partnership with the community in helping to educate and produce graduates who are fully enabled to successfully engage as responsible and contributing members of our rapidly changing society.  The Department is also dedicated to the prevention of crime; the protection of life and liberty; the maintenance of law and order.
