Athletic Complex & Randig Feasibility Study

Pflugerville hired Halff and Associates to conduct an Athletic Complex and Randig Tract Feasibility study for the city.
While there are opportunities for a variety of sports play in Pflugerville, this study specifically outlines its focus on needs for baseball, football, soccer and softball.

Study recommendations / findings:bohls park fields
4 baseball fields, 4 new softball fields and converting the Little League Complex to a practice facility.
4 new lighted football fields and lighted practice space
6-10 new soccer fields and upgrades to Wells Point Soccer Complex
Potential solutions include: New multi-sport complex, Wells Point enhancements, Pfennig Park repurposing and Little League complex maintenance.

The study concluded that the Randig Tract was more ideal for passive recreation (activities such as walking, hiking, picnicking or fishing) rather than active recreational use (organized sports/group activities).

November 29, 2012 - Focus Group met with Pflugerville youth sports leagues and association representatives.

March 28, 2013 - Community meeting with an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the analysis performed in the study.

November 16, 2012 - January 19, 2013  - Online survey offered which garnered 523 responses.
Residents were most satisfied with overall safety of parks, number of parks, maintenance of parks, quality of parks and location/distribution of parks. Areas for improvement were the number of practice fields, location and distribution of practice areas, quality of practice areas and number of youth and adult fields.
