Hiring Process
  • Applicants will complete the City of Pflugerville on-line Application for Employment required by the City of Pflugerville Human Resources Office.
  • Once a qualified applicant has completed an application on-line, the applicant will be notified of the testing date.  Prior to the testing date, the applicant will be notified by email and will be required to complete pre-testing documentation.  All pre-test documentation must be received prior to the testing date.
  • On the date of testing, all applicants must arrive at the Pflugerville Justice Center by 8:30 AM.  If an applicant is late, they will not be allowed to test and will disqualified.
  • Applicants will complete a standard and nationally recognized written examination.  Those applicants that pass the written examination will then proceed to a physical agility test. 
  • The applicants which pass the physical agility test will be notified when their oral board interview will take place.  Applicants can expect the process to take all day.  
  • Upon completion of the oral board interview process, the top candidates will continue with the background investigation process.  If an applicant passes the background investigation, they will be required to complete the following:
    • Physical Examination
    • Drug Screening
    • Psychological Examination
    • Firearms Qualification
    • Chief’s interview

  • Once an applicant completes the process, they will be made a conditional job offer.
