November 2015 Bond Election

Bond graphic 2015

On Tuesday, July 28, the Pflugerville City Council continued discussion on possible bonds for the November General Obligation Bond Election for capital improvements and on August 11 placed two propositions on the ballot: one transportation bond for Weiss Lane and one for a new Pflugerville Animal Shelter.

Election Day: November 3, 2015
Early voting: October 19-30, 2015

Weiss Lane: While Weiss Lane was on the November 2014 bond election for a two-lane roadway with shoulders and turn lanes at major intersections, the November 2015 bond election lets voters decide if they want to add an additional $9.5 million to make Weiss a four-lane urban roadway. If approved by the voters, Weiss Lane would be four lanes from just north of the bridge by Pecan to Kelly Lane, adjacent to the future high school.

Animal Shelter: The Pflugerville Animal Shelter bond, if approved by the voters, allows for $10.7 million to build a new animal shelter. Based on the Quorum Architect needs assessment, if approved by the voters, the facility would have expanded capacity, larger cages and kennels. The current proposed location is at Lake Pflugerville. The facility is anticipated to support animal control needs through 2025, allowing for future expansion thereafter. Potential features include: community meeting space, expanded office space, police satellite offices and onsite veterinary services.
