How do I get a Library Card?
Persons who reside with in the Pflugerville Independent School District (PISD) and are 18 years and older may obtain a library card through self-registration at the Library and presenting a state issued photo ID (Valid Driver’s License, Texas ID card, Military ID or Mexican Consulate card). If the photo ID does not show the current address, verification of current address will also be required. Children should be five years old or older to receive library cards, and require a parent or guardian’s signature.
Non-resident cards are $25.
When is my book due? What if it's late?
Library materials check out for 2 weeks, and may be renewed if no one is waiting for them. There is a maximum of 2 renewals. There are no overdue fees however if the item is not returned within 10 days of the due date the account is blocked. To restore privileges, simply return or pay for the items.
The library provides overdue notices strictly as a courtesy. Customers are responsible for the timely return of all materials on their accounts. Please unblock the library from your email.
When an item is lost or damaged beyond repair, the customer is charged the full retail price of the item plus a $10.00 processing fee.
The Library will not accept replacement copies in lieu of lost or damaged items.
Damage to Library materials should be reported immediately to library staff. Repairs are to be made by library staff only. Customer repairs may necessitate replacement of items with costs charged to the customer.
Method of Payment
Payment of fees can be made in the following ways:
In person at the Pflugerville Public Library, 1008 W. Pfluger Street, Pflugerville, TX 78660
By check or money order mailed to Pflugerville Public Library, 1008 W. Pfluger Street, Pflugerville, TX 78660
Or by credit card. Customers must come in person at the City Finance Dept. Hours of operation are M-F, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
What is a TexShare Card?
PPL is a member of TexShare, a program that allows patrons to check out materials at other libraries across the state. There are more than 500 public and academic member libraries that take part in Texshare. Each member library has its own checkout policy for TexShare lending, and any materials borrowed from another library must be returned to that library, not to PPL. To apply for a TexShare card at PPL:
You must have been an adult PPL cardholder for a minimum of 3 months.
You must have a consistent checkout history with Pflugerville Public Library.
Patrons who owe for lost or damaged materials are not eligible for a TexShare Card.
Patrons lost or damaged fees that have remained unpaid for a period of 90 days are not eligible for TexShare services until all payments have been made and after a period of good standing for at least 3 months.
TexShare Borrowers from other libraries must renew their TexShare Card at their home library.
I lost my library card- how do I get a new one?
Replacement library cards are $1.
I have a TexShare Card from another library. Can I use it at PPL?
Present your TexShare Card and a valid Texas ID or Texas driver's license at the check-out desk. Some restrictions apply.
How can I get a book from another library?
If we don't have the book you need, there are several ways to borrow the material. If it is available at a library nearby, TexShare may be the answer. If the book is at a distant library, InterLibrary Loan may be the best solution.
Fill out an ILL request online and staff will do a search and borrow the material if it is available. Materials may be requested from libraries nationwide. You then check out the item from PPL and return it here. ILL takes 10 days to 2 weeks.
Note: The library will create an account for your in OCLC Texas Navigator (NRE) in order to borrow the item. Interlibrary loans are recorded through NRE, which tracks requests, receipt, and return of interlibrary loan items.

How do I reserve a book?
If the material is in the Library online catalog, you may place a reserve on the item. You will be notified when the material is available. To place a hold on online:
From the library catalog, locate the login box
Use your library card number and password to login (case sensitive)
Search for the item in the library catalog
Click on the item
Click reserve this title
How do I register for a Library program?
Not all library programs require registration. However, due to space limitations some library programs do require registration. If a program does require registration the advertising for the program will clearly state that registration is required. Some programs will also have specific registration dates.

How do I Make a Donation in Someone's Honor or Memory?
Books (or other materials) may be given to the Library in honor or in memory of someone. Please check with the Library Director to discuss collection needs and Library policy. Specific items may be brought to the Library or, in the case of cash donations, ordered by Staff for addition to the collection. A book plate recognizing the individual will b affixed to the memorial or honoring gift if desired. These gifts are a great option to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or holiday - one the whole community can enjoy.
Do you have Study and Meeting Rooms?
There are a number of areas in the library suitable for individual or group study. If a room is not reserved by a group it is available first come first serve.

When is the book sale?
The Friends of the Pflugerville Public Library run an ongoing book sale "Buy the Book" located just off the Great Hall in the Library.
