Under the direction of a dedicated City Council and City Manager Brandon Wade, the city's staff unwaveringly serves the citizens of Pflugerville.
The city's 2013 Strategic Plan focuses on:
Quality of life: We love Pflugerville and know that quality of life is key to where you choose to live. In 2013 the city will focus on parks studies and recreation enhancements, the library expansion , identity enhancement of our hometown atmosphere and partnership enhancements.
Public safety: The police department will continue emergency preparedness, Emergency Services Strategic planning and animal shelter improvements.
Infrastructure operations and asset maintenance In 2013 several operational policies for public works and enhancement of transportation planning, street and drainage infrastructure operations will take place. The city is planning for water, wastewater and reuse utilities and enhancing utility infrastructure operations.
Back to basics in government administration: The city continues its commitment to E-pfive - we will continue to evaluate city programs as to whether they are Essential, Efficient, Effective, Equitable and Ethical. Communications and customer service training and an administrative management plan are all part of the 2013 strategic plan.
Work Philosophy:
How: Based off the best-seller “HOW: Why How We Do Anything Means Everything,” by Dov Seidman, Wade challenges employees to rethink how they work and why they do what they do.
“It’s not only WHAT we provide for our residents, but HOW we serve our residents that sets Pflugerville apart," Wade said. “HOW empowers employees to go beyond the standard rules, embraces transparency in government and examines why we do what we do. By working for a city with a vision worthy of their dedication, employees are united by a common vision that emphasizes doing the right thing and highest standards of customer service.”
