Traffic signal coming at New Meister and Heatherwilde
City Council approved the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of New Meister and Heatherwilde Blvd at the Council meeting this week.
Heatherwilde Boulevard is a busy arterial corridor and the current and future residential and commercial developments in this area will only increase traffic demands at this intersection.
City staff and consulting engineers explored options to improve safety and reduce congestion at the intersection and a traffic signal was determined to be the most cost-effective solution to meet the City’s needs. Immediately following the installation of this traffic signal, other signals on Heatherwilde, from Cheyenne Valley Drive to Kingston Lacey Boulevard, will be coordinated to provide optimal traffic flow while providing for safe and reliable access to New Meister Lane. Construction activities are expected to begin after the first of the year and should be complete by early summer.
