7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2
Post Date:08/17/2018 9:30 AM

Pflugerville’s National Night Out is Tuesday, October 2. Register your neighborhood National Night Out Party with the Pflugerville Police Department so police officers, firefighters and EMS personnel can schedule a visit and meet local neighbors.

National Night Out is a great opportunity for citizens and law enforcement to join forces to promote crime and drug prevention awareness and to strengthen the police and community partnership.

On Tuesday, October 2, neighborhoods throughout Pflugerville will be asked to join forces with thousands of communities throughout the United States for the 35th annual National Night Out against crime.  It’s easy to participate in National Night Out. Neighbors are encouraged to turn on porch lights from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2 and organize a block party. The event provides an opportunity for Pflugerville Police Officers to meet the residents of the neighborhoods they patrol.

The Annual National Night Out (NNO) is a unique crime prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW).
National Night Out is designed to:
 (1) heighten crime prevention awareness
 (2) generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs
 (3) strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
 (4) send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods
 are organized and fighting back.

Along with the traditional display of outdoor lights and front porch vigils, many cities, towns, and neighborhoods ‘celebrate’ NNO with a variety of events and activities such as block parties, cookouts, visits from local police and fire department, parades, flashlight walks, contests and youth programs. NNO has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation.  Plus, the benefits your community will derive from NNO will most certainly extend well beyond the one night.  Register your party with the City of Pflugerville Police Department, City Council and first responders will stop by. Visit to sign up today.
