Law Enforcement Association of Pflugerville BBQ fundraiser, raffle and blood drive - Camryn's relentless battle
Rain or shine
The Law Enforcement Association of Pflugerville (LEAP), in conjunction with LEAP Charity is moving forward with its BBQ fundraiser, raffle and blood donation scheduled for Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 10a to 2p at the Pfield, come rain or shine.
In the event of rain, LEAP will utilize the left side of the stadium, underneath the bleachers, and will also have tents set up for people to stay dry as they eat.
“Camryn’s illness doesn’t take rain checks, so we won’t either”, said LEAP President Dan Griffith. “It is our goal to provide as much support as possible to Camryn and the Anderson family. While we are all grateful for the monetary help that has been pouring in, we’re doing all we can to also find a match for Camryn so that she can get the bone marrow transplant that she needs.”
LEAP has organized this fundraiser to help Camryn, the daughter of a Pflugerville Police Officer. Nine-year-old Camryn was recently diagnosed with aplastic anemia, a rare blood disease, and is in need of a bone marrow transplant and blood transfusions.
A blood drive from We Are Blood and BetheMatch.org will be onsite at the event, as well as a bike and car show, and children's activities. Tickets for BBQ plates can be purchased in advance at the Police Department, as well as at the event.
