Pflugerville Police to Play Flag Football with the Pflugerville Falcons Special Olympic Athletes Causing a Rumble in the 'Ville
Officers from the Pflugerville Police Department (PPD) will team up with the Pflugerville Falcon Special Olympic athletes for a battle of the ages at the “Rumble in the ‘Ville” flag football game on Wednesday, October 24 at Hendrickson Hawk Stadium.
The game will kick off at 6:30 p.m. Officers will team up with the Falcons to compete against each other for bragging rights. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for students. All proceeds from the evening will go directly back into the Falcon Program.
“Events like these help to recognize and celebrate our incredible Special Olympic Pflugerville Falcons,” said Amy Wiesenhutter, Pflugerville ISD Special Olympics Coordinator. “The continued support that the Pflugerville Police Department has shown our athletes has been amazing, and for that I am so grateful.”
Earlier this year, the Pflugerville Police Department supported the athletes through a fundraiser, a rib-eating contest between PPD and the Round Rock Police Department, at Texas Roadhouse. PPD also visited the Falcons for a friendly game of basketball. In addition to flag football, the Falcons participate in a variety of other sports including golf, aquatics, bowling, basketball, track and soccer.
“Our partnership and support of the Pflugerville Falcons has been just as rewarding for the Police Department as it has been for the Falcons,” Police Chief Jessica Robledo said. “This game will be a guaranteed great time for both the participants and the spectators, and we invite the public to join us in supporting our Falcon athletes.”
