Do you want to know more about the Pflugerville Police Department and how it operates? Are you interested in having a more active role in community policing? Registration is now open for Pflugerville’s Citizen Police Academy.

The Citizens Police Academy is a 34-hour course of instruction to give the public a working knowledge of the Pflugerville Police Department policies and operational practices. The program consists mainly of two-hour classes on Thursdays starting February 7. The comprehensive course covers a different area of police work each week led by certified police officers, supervisors and civilian personnel.

Applicants must work, reside or own a business in the city limits or extraterritorial jurisdiction of Pflugerville and be at least 18 years old.

Upon completion, graduates may consider participation in the Citizens on Patrol program, which aims to help Pflugerville police reduce crime, improve community awareness, and facilitate partnerships between the community and the Pflugerville Police Department.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on Jan. 31. Register today at or contact Pflugerville Police Department’s Office of Community Liaison at 512-990-6940 or
