Environmental Clean Up Day is Saturday, September 21

Environmental Clean Up Day is an annual event hosted by the City of Pflugerville to encourage residents to recycle and allow for proper disposal of items. The event is at Park Crest Middle School, 1500 N. Railroad Avenue, from 8:30-11:30 a.m.  clean up day 1

New for 2019: Gifts for Blue Santa and travel-sized personal toiletries will be collected at Environmental Clean Up Day to help those in need. Paper shredding is offered. Fencing and construction debris are not accepted. 

Items accepted at Clean Up Day:  appliances, document shredding (2 legal size box limit), electronics; furniture; plastic grocery bags; water-based paints; vehicle batteries, tires - 4 per vehicle, scrap metal items, trash, used motor oil, antifreeze & oil filters, televisions, latex paint, and scrap metal. 

Items not accepted include: fencing; construction debris; chemicals of any kind, compressed gas cylinders, explosives, industrial or commercial waste, medical waste, oil-based paint, items labeled as “poison,” “warning” or “caution.” 

Tips to prepare for Clean Up Day: Environmental Clean Up Day is only available to Pflugerville utility customers. The following subdivisions are NOT in the city limits: Springhill, Sarah’s Creek, Wells Branch and Brookfield. If you live off Howard Lane, in Round Rock, Hutto or Austin’s extra-territorial jurisdiction you will not be able to participate. Pflugerville utility customers only. Proof of residency with utility bill required. No commercial contractors. Please be in line by 11:30 a.m. to ensure entry. CleanUPday1

Use your Recycle Center: Remember that several items are accepted year-round at the recycle center.  The City recycle center is located at 15500 Sun Light Near Way and open Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. It accepts items not recycled curbside to include: brush and tree limbs, leaves, vehicle batteries, transmission fluid, motor oil, anti-freeze, oil filters and tires (up to 4 per year).

City Bulk pickup service: Don't wait in line for items you could've just put on the curb all year long. You can put your trash cart plus an additional six bags and/or bulk items at the curb on your trash day.
