When out for Black Pfriday, Don't forget to shop locally comehometoshop

The day after Thanksgiving is one of the biggest shopping days of the year, known as Black Friday. Before you head out the door, make sure you map your desired shopping path and make sure that you are shopping in Pflugerville. Keeping your tax dollars local helps support local businesses, Pflugerville jobs and businesses. Not sure where to go? Visit pfuntx.com for a list of shopping and dining locations.

Also, when you make large purchases, the Pflugerville Police Department encourages you to cut up cardboard boxes and put them into your recycle cart, not out on display at the curb.  Don’t advertise to thieves the great new TV and merchandise that you purchased for your home. If you make a lot of purchases, consider stopping home to drop off purchases instead of leaving them in your automobile. Enjoy your shopping holiday and keep your sales tax dollars local by shopping in Pflugerville. Be safe and have pfun.

City Council approves alignment alternative for Kelly Lane at Weiss Lane, Hodde Lane and Cele Road

Alternative_1_small

The City Council reviewed and approved a realignment of Kelly Lane at Weiss Lane, Hodde Lane and Cele Road. An alignment study was added to the Kelly Lane Phase 3 project in August 2019 to review current and future roadways in the area to determine if the intersection should be modified to align with Cele Road.

The project took into consideration growth, environmental and cultural resources, local area land uses, engineering design guidelines and the potential impact to proposed development in the area. Other factors included safety, driver expectancy, mobility, travel times, level of services, cost, access, and right-of-way.

The City Council approved City staff’s recommendation of the alternative pictured which curves Kelly Lane northward to connect in a four-way intersection at Weiss Lane at Hodde Lane and could add approximately $2.5 million to the project.

Construction of this modified intersection will be included as part of the Kelly Lane Phase 3 project and the alignment will be previewed at a future open house for Kelly Lane Phase 2.

Check out the new Christmas Parade Route for the December 7 event

As the Christmas Parade grows each year, the City and Knights of Columbus have worked together to make room for all the additional pfestivities. This year,  the parade route is slightly modified. Instead of the parade traveling south on Railroad Avenue and turning on Main Street, the parade will turn on Wilbarger Street, loop around to Main Street and then finish by going north on Railroad Avenue. The parade will enter downtown Pflugerville eastbound, the opposite direction of years past through Main Street. Because of this slight change, there is additional viewing area on Wilbarger Street. For a full description of our new route visit pflugervilletx.gov/holidays or watch our Youtube video here
