Mayor Gonzales declares May 17-23 National Public Works Week
At the May 12 City Council meeting, Mayor Gonzales declared May 17-23 as National Public Works Week in Pflugerville. Public works infrastructure, facilities and services are of vital importance to the health, safety and well-being of the citizens of Pflugerville. These services, which are managed and maintained by public works employees, include transportation systems, water infrastructure, wastewater systems and other critical operations that help keep the City running. The purpose of National Public Works Week is to educate residents about the role public works employees play in their everyday lives.
This year’s theme for National Public Works Week is “The Rhythm of Public Works,” which represents how the Public Works Department functions. The department keeps the community rhythm moving by providing an orchestra of infrastructure services in transportation, water and wastewater, public buildings, and fleet services.
Our public works employees are hard at work every day to ensure that Pflugerville residents receive quality services to suit the needs of the community. To all our public works employees, thank you for your service and for continuing to safely operate Pflugerville’s vital facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
