Project Information

In 2014 City Council approved funding for development of a master plan of Lake Pflugerville. After engaging in public open houses and forums with residents, Parks and Recreation Commissioners, and City Council members, and staff, the master plan took shape and was later approved. The master plan includes expansion of existing park facilities, additional utility services, beach expansion and improvement and additional trailheads.

Beach-improvements-phase-1This same year, voters approved the General Obligation bond which included development of Phase 1 of the Lake Pflugerville master plan. Development of a preliminary design report began in 2018 and was approved by City Council in June 2019. Based on further analysis of the existing lake, detailed conceptual facility designs and updated construction cost projections, the report prioritized improvements to the lake that reflected available City funding. Development of an additional trailhead and expansion of specific beach amenities (pictured to the right) were the top improvements identified for Phase 1 development.
