Austin Public Health declared that our area is in Stage 5 (Sustained person to person spread) in response to COVID-19. In an effort to ensure that our community, customers and staff remain healthy, we are taking the following steps to ensure that our staff, customers and community continue to receive the services you expect while keeping the health of the community in mind.
Starting immediately, staff will not be meeting with our customers in person until May 1st. If you already have a meeting scheduled with staff, we will be contacting you to discuss the issues, concerns or questions you have regarding your project. If you have questions for staff please feel free to reach out via email and staff will be in contact with you to discuss any issues that you may have. Because many of our team will be working remotely we ask that you email staff and they will respond either via phone or email. We achieve this through collaborative planning and advising for the creation and implementation of standards for development in the city and the extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ). The Development Services Center consists of the following:
Building Inspection Department – Your resource for permits and code information for new building construction, floodplain management, sign permits, remodels, alterations, and effective January 1, 2013, health and food safety inspections for food service establishments and schools. Development Engineering Department – Your resource for permits and information regarding public infrastructure, floodplain management, and stormwater quality and responsible for public infrastructure construction plan and site plan review and inspection. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Planning Department – Your resource for initiating your development process assuring consistency with adopted plans and regulations and responsible for the administration of subdivision plat and site plan review, rezoning applications, variances and long-range planning functions including annexation, demographics, and GIS.
