Long-Range Planning

Long Range Planning is the “big picture” component of planning which creates the pathway for implementing the directives outlined by the Comprehensive Plan and similar strategic plans approved by the City Council. Specified planning studies, ordinance changes, and annexation discussions are examples of work that is done in Long Range Planning.

2030 Comprehensive Plan

The Pflugerville 2030 Comprehensive Plan is a guiding visioning document that shapes the Pflugerville Unified Development Code and government actions. In addition to setting out policies and direction for the use, development, and protection of land, the comprehensive plan sets goals for the social, economic, and natural environment of Pflugerville. The 2030 Comprehensive Plan was adopted by City Council on September 29, 2010, by City Ordinance 1050-10-09-28.

Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan

The Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan expands upon the goals, policies, and action items within the 2030 Comprehensive Plan and provides for park facility concepts and standards, inventory of park amenities for each park, needs assessment and identification, and plan implementation and identification. The Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan is the overarching visioning plan for the development of the City's park system, which addresses existing and future parks.

Transportation Master Plan

In November 2019, the City Council adopted Pflugerville Pforward as the City’s new Transportation Master Plan (TMP).  The TMP is a long range plan that identifies transportation objectives, solutions, and policies the City of Pflugerville needs to consider as it continues to be one of the fastest growing cities in America.  The transportation planning process defines future investments that will move people and goods in a safe and efficient manner.  Development the TMP was  collaborative process that analyzed a variety of alternative scenarios imaging fully built-out city.
