Safety for children going to school is a high priority of the City of Pflugerville as well as Pflugerville Independent School District. The School Zone Traffic Safety Team was established to focus attention and resources toward the improvement of operations in the vicinity of our schools.
The objectives for the School Zone Safety Team are:
- To enhance safety
- To improve connectivity
- To reduce congestion
- To encourage healthy lifestyles
These objectives will offer more children the opportunity to walk or bike to school.
If you have questions or concerns, please email them to the School Zone Team for further investigation. A member of the team will respond to you with information regarding your comments.

Safe Routes to School Plan
The beginning basis for these efforts was the City’s Safe Routes to School Plan that was prepared by Alliance Transportation Group with the input and assistance of stakeholders. Parent surveys were also conducted in conjunction with the plan preparation in 2008. The plan was adopted on August 24, 2010 by Resolution No. 1261-10-08-24-7A.
