About the Event

Date: October 21, 2017

Time: Noon to 5 p.m.

Location Downtown Main Street, Pflugerville, TX 78660

Event Activities: Cook-Off contest, vendors, children's area, Heat Wave Car Show, live music and a jalapeno eating contest.

TEAM APPLICATION DEADLINE: Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. No Exceptions. Booth space is limited and spaces may fill before the entry deadline.

Early Bird Discount Fee: Entries received by Saturday, October 3, 2017 at 11:59 p.m.

Cook-Off Team Guidelines

Cook-off Team Requirements: Cook-off teams must cook judged chili at the event. Teams are also required to bring at least fifteen (15) gallons of chili for tasting/People's Choice Award. This chili may be prepared before the cook-off and may be different from judged chili. Teams must be ready to prove they brought the required amount of chili. 

 

Unauthorized Vendors or Cook-Off Teams: Those vendors or teams who have not registered and paid the booth fee will be ushered off the event site by Pflugerville Police Officers. This includes those who walk and hand out information, or try to sell products of any kind while walking through the crowds, or attempting to set up a booth, or standing within the event site to sell. Unauthorized vendors will be easily identified as those not wearing the Chili Pfest event credentials, issued to those who have been accepted as a vendor or cook-off team and paid the 2016 Pfall Chili Pfest fees. If a team's name is not on the Registration List at check-in on event morning, that means the appropriate fees were not paid nor the team accepted into the festival and therefore, should not plan to set up or participate.

 

How to know you are accepted as a cook-off team: A "Notice of Acceptance" will be sent to the designated Team Captain by email once the team's application is processed and approved. A full list of instructions, site map and parking permits will be emailed to each Cook-Off Team within the two weeks before the event occurs. If a team has not received a "Notice of Acceptance," it has not been admitted to the event. No day-of admission as a Cook-Off Team is permitted. Please call 512-990-6113 with any questions.

If accepted, I agree to pay the following fees within 7 business days of receiving the "Notification of Acceptance" email. I acknowledge that my team's acceptance is conditional upon payment of these fees. Rates will be based on the date this application was submitted.

RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT FOR ADULTS

I, the above-named adult, am eighteen (18) years of age or older and have voluntarily applied to participate in the Pfall Chili Pfest. I acknowledge that the nature of the event may expose me to hazards or risks that may result in my illness, personal injury, or death and I understand and appreciate the nature of such hazards and risks. In consideration of my participation in the Pfall Chili Pfest, I hereby accept all risk to my health and of my injury or death that may result from such participation and I hereby release the City of Pflugerville, its governing board, officers, employees and representatives from any liability to me, my personal representatives, heirs, next of kin, and assigns for any and all claims and causes of action for loss of or damage to my property and for any and all illness or injury to my person, including my death, that may result from or occur during my participation the Pfall Chili Pfest, whether caused by negligence of the city of Pflugerville, its governing board, officers, employees, or representatives, or otherwise. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless the City of Pflugerville and its governing board, officers, employees and representatives from liability for the injury or death of any person(s) and damage to property that may result from my negligent or intentional act or omission while participating the described Pfall Chili Pfest.

I have carefully read this agreement and understand it to be a release of all claims and causes of action for my injury or death or damage to my property that occurs while participating in the described Pfall Chili Pfest and it obligates me to indemnify the parties named for any liability for injury or death of a person and damage to property caused by my negligent or intentional act or omission. 

I agree to the RELEASE AND INDEMNICATION AGREEMENT FOR ADULTS as listed on this page.
